We
would like to thank the wonderful people of Torreperogil for one of the most
special nights of Sinnerboy’s career so far. At one point in the gig I
looked up at the stars and the mountains surrounding the Torres Oscuras stage
and thought of Rory and how he’d feel about so many people enjoying his
music, thank you for singing the last verse of Million Miles Away for me because
I couldn’t, I had too big a lump in my throat!
Thank
you to Thomas and Juan for looking after our every need and Frank (The biggest
rock music enthusiast I have ever met) for stuffing us full of as much
food and wine as we could possibly eat, you are great guys and we consider you
our friends for life!
Thanks also
to the staff at the hotel (was your name Berlin?) Fernando for a great breakfast,
the excellent sound crew and expert lighting technician (When ever
we
brought the crowd into the proceedings the lighting man was ahead of us!) These
guys turned the already spectacular Andalucian setting into something that resembled
fairyland! Juan’s wife and Nancy, the tobacconist and the shop assistant,
the lads from Purple Cuervos for lending us their gear, the young man who lent
me his amp, the bar owner who ran back to his bar, unlocked it and ran back
to the Torres with three pints of Guinness! (Top man) Jesus and Terry and all
the people from other provinces who traveled so far to see us, Jim for getting
us the gig in the first place and then missing it! Paco for the lift to Malaga,
and especially to the lovely, happy, friendly warm and hospitable people of
Torreperogil whom we’ll never forget.
Viva!
