Barry Barnes
Barry first saw Rory perform in 1969 with Taste, he was blown away by Rory's talent and became a huge fan, attending 20 concerts through the years 'I used to think that was a lot before I started playing in Sinnerboy but now I've met fans who have seen him hundreds of times - I'm a lightweight now!'
After Rory's passing in 1995 Barry staged the first ever Rory Gallagher Tribute concert in his home city of Manchester, an ever present in the Rory Calendar and now at it's current location at The world famous Cavern Club (yes THAT one!) in Liverpool each November. The 'Rorygig'
'I loved Rory as a man and I loved his music - i'm just a big fan!'
Jonny Brutal
Jonny Brutal, born of man but reared by wild dogs, unleashed himself on the drumming world in the late 70's by way of punk music and all things noisy.
As skill progressed he moved from the Ramones like a barrage of youthful enthusiasm onto the power and glory of the new wave of British heavy metal. He has sinced passed through the ranks of a number of great bands and has been featured on many albums and singles.
How did this crazed man end up in a Rory Gallagher band? Well, put simply, he loves the energy of Rory's music. 'Sinnerboy' has presented a great opportunity tp play some of the great man's music with a guitarist who is faithful to the spirit and emotion of Rory Gallagher.
He looks forward to bringing Rory's music to the fans once more and giving them a damn good Shinkicking!
Nick Skelson
First heard Rory at college in 1973 as an 18 year old. It took me until 77/78 to get to see Rory live with Gerry and Ted. Then had the great fortune to get to see Rory about a dozen times, and actually got to shake the man's hand one night!
As the 80's hit town and mullets and rent boys took over the music scene I put my bass down for nearly 25 years. When I went to the second Ballyshannon festival the whole thing put the fuel in my fire, and I decided as a near 50 year old it was time to pick up the plank of wood.
Over the last 5 years or so I've been playing in cover bands = and trying to convince them to do a Rory set so I could get to play in Ballyshannon. When I heard Barry was looking for a bassman I thought it was a chance in a million - now, hopefully I'll be in Ballyshannon with Sinnerboy!
To be playing the music of my greatest influence at this standard is a dream come true. I can't wait to get in front of an audience who want to hear Rory's music - very soon we will be In Your Town!
